Las Tunas Performance Horses and 500 Novillos Tequila Join NRCHA In Multi-Year Partnership

By September 17, 2026No Comments

The National Reined Cow Horse Association is proud to welcome Las Tunas Performance Horses and 500 Novillos Tequila in a new multi-year partnership supporting NRCHA Premier Events and the reined cow horse community. The partnership brings together two brands rooted in ranching heritage and the western lifestyle with a shared commitment to supporting the traditions and future of the performance horse industry.

Las Tunas Performance Horses is a performance horse breeding program and Black Angus cattle operation focused on producing world-class American Quarter Horses and Angus cattle while preserving and promoting ranching heritage, equestrian sports, and recreation. Las Tunas also raises Corriente cattle that are selected for the qualities such as agility, endurance, and the instinct to work.

“We are very proud to have Las Tunas become a presenting sponsor of the Open Bridle classes at the NRCHA Premier Events,” said Miguel Guerrero, owner of Las Tunas Performance Horses. “At Las Tunas, we believe in supporting the people, horses and organizations that continue to move the performance horse industry forward while staying true to the traditions and values that built it.”

This sponsorship will begin at the 2026 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® presented by Metallic Cat, where Las Tunas will be the presenting sponsor of the Open Bridle class. Las Tunas will also sponsor the Open Bridle classes at the NRCHA Kalpowar Quarter Horses Celebration of Champions, NRCHA CINCH Stallion Stakes, and NRCHA MARS EQUESTRIAN™ Hackamore Classic.

In addition to the Open Bridle sponsorship, Las Tunas has expanded their partnership with NRCHA by bringing in their tequila brand, 500 Novillos Tequila as the official tequila of NRCHA.

“500 Novillos was born from the same ranching culture and western lifestyle that are at the heart of Las Tunas, and we want it to become a tequila that people associate with the great moments, friendships and traditions that surround this industry,” Guerrero said.

Rooted in ranching heritage, Las Tunas breeds and trains American Quarter Horses with an emphasis on versatility, performance and the skills required of the working ranch horse. Through its breeding and performance horse program, Las Tunas is committed to preserving western traditions while promoting them to future generations.

NRCHA Executive Director Patty Tiberg shared her excitement about the new partnership.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Las Tunas Performance Horses and 500 Novillos Tequila to NRCHA,” Tiberg said. “This is a significant multi-year commitment to our Association, our Premier Events and the reined cow horse community, and we are extremely grateful to Miguel, his family, and his team for choosing to invest with NRCHA. Las Tunas has a genuine appreciation for the horses, people, and ranching traditions at the foundation of our sport, which makes this partnership a natural fit. We are especially excited about their commitment to the Open Bridle and the finished bridle horse, which represents the highest level of progression in reined cow horse. We look forward to building this partnership and finding meaningful ways to connect both Las Tunas and 500 Novillos with our members and fans for years to come.”
