Weatherford, Texas — The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is proud to announce that Brandon Buttars has officially surpassed $1 million in NRCHA lifetime earnings, marking a major milestone in his accomplished career as a trainer, horseman and competitor. Buttars enters the 2026 season ranked 17th in the Open, adding even more momentum to a year already filled with standout performances.
Buttars’ journey to the million-dollar benchmark has been defined by consistency and big moments at NRCHA’s most prestigious events. His notable earnings include a reserve championship title at the 2022 NRCHA Stallion Stakes Open Finals aboard This Cats The Mark, followed by another third place title at the 2023 NRCHA Open Derby with the same horse. Both performances contributed to the steady rise that lifted Buttars across the million-dollar threshold.
Rooted in Snowville, Utah, Buttars has earned a reputation for developing honest, competitive reined cow horses and supporting the riders and programs that rely on them. This milestone reflects his decades of dedication to the sport and to the families, breeders, and owners behind each horse he has shown.
NRCHA Executive Director Emily Konkel congratulated Buttars on this historic achievement.
“We’re incredibly proud of Brandon and the work and accomplishments that have defined his career,” said NRCHA Executive Director Emily Konkel. “Reaching the million-dollar milestone is something many strive for, and Brandon has achieved it through consistent success and dedication to the reined cow horse. Well done, Brandon, and welcome to the NRCHA Million Dollar Rider Club.”
Brandon Buttars now joins the distinguished ranks of the NRCHA Million Dollar Rider Club, a group reserved for horsemen and horsewomen whose competitive excellence has shaped the sport.
