Valley Equine Sponsors NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® Intermediate Open Division

By January 22, 2026No Comments

Weatherford, Texas—The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is proud to share that Valley Equine will sponsor the Intermediate Open division of the 2026 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity®, an event that celebrates the roots of reined cow horse and the future of its stars.

“We work with a lot of horsemen who compete in NRCHA events, so this partnership feels authentic,” shared Jeremy Barwick, part-owner of Valley Equine, which provides breeding services on both the mare and stallion sides. “This partnership isn’t just about putting our name on something; it’s about supporting a division and an event that a lot of our customers care about. The association’s focus on horsemanship and proper development mirrors how we approach our own operation at Valley Equine.”

In 2025, the Intermediate Open division of the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® paid out $271,000 in total, with $45,000 going to the division winner Zane Davis and Constellations (Dual Reyish x Playguns Star x Playgun), owned by Lazy T Ranch and bred by Cara M. Brewer.

“We’ve always believed the industry is built at every level, not just at the very top,” Barwick continued. “The NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity® is often the first major test for these horses, and sponsoring the Intermediate Open allows us to support that moment. Many of the riders in this class are customers of ours, which makes it especially meaningful to be involved as these horses begin their competitive careers.”

In 2026, the Intermediate Open division is available to any rider who’s not on the Top-30 Open Rider list, based on Open Category 1 money won in the past three years at any NRCHA approved events.

“We stand with Valley Equine in valuing all levels of competition in our sport,” shared NRCHA Executive Director Emily Konkel. “Their support of this division promotes continued growth, opportunity, and achievement for riders and owners throughout reined cow horse.”
