NRCHA Hackamore Classic to Remain in Tulsa Through 2027

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is pleased to announce that the NRCHA Hackamore Classic will remain at the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for both 2026 and 2027.

After hosting the event at the Tulsa Expo Center since 2023, NRCHA leadership has seen steady growth in entries and positive feedback from competitors, owners, and sponsors. Following a comprehensive review of facility bids and a survey of the membership, the NRCHA Board of Directors voted to extend the event’s stay in Tulsa through 2027 with the option to continue to renew in 2028.

“We’re grateful to the facilities that submitted bids and showed interest in hosting the Hackamore Classic,” said Emily Konkel, NRCHA Executive Director. “After reviewing member feedback and weighing all our options, we’re excited to continue our partnership with Tulsa Expo Square. The venue has expanded its riding areas and stalling, offered greater date flexibility, and increased its support for the event, which strengthens our bottom line. With nearly 800 stalls filled and 17 percent growth from 2024 to 2025, Tulsa is well-positioned to support the event’s momentum.”

The Tulsa Expo Center offers ample space, indoor air-conditioned warm-up arenas, convenient trailer and RV parking, and a centralized layout that supports both horses and horsemen. The city’s support through local and state programs also provides financial backing that helps strengthen the long-term sustainability of the event.

Looking ahead to 2026, NRCHA is also working with the facility to reconfigure cattle storage and practice pen space. These adjustments will make the event more practice-friendly for all exhibitors, including three-year-old horses preparing for the upcoming futurity season, while maintaining smooth operations for show horses and staff.

With this commitment, NRCHA will add additional days to the show schedule in 2026 and 2027, creating a more comfortable schedule for exhibitors and attendees. Competitor and staff move-in will also be expanded to support a smoother setup experience.
