Weatherford, Texas—Metallic Cat (High Brow Cat x Chers Shadow x Peptoboonsmal) has moved up another level on the National Reined Cow Horse Association Million Dollar Sires ranks becoming the first-ever NRCHA Nine Million Dollar Sire. Owned by Rocking P Ranch, the 2005 red roan stallion is a National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Hall of Fame horse, he won the 2008 NCHA Open Futurity and was the 2009 NCHA Horse of the Year.

“It is truly extraordinary to consider that Metallic Cat has now become an NRCHA Nine million Dollar Sire,” said Debbie Roberts of Spur Equine Marketing. “Just a few years ago, he achieved the status of the all-time leading cow horse sire, and since then, his numbers have been rising by an impressive $1 million per year on average. The remarkable talent he passes on to his offspring underscores his dominance as a sire. We are deeply grateful to the breeders, owners and trainers who continue to place their trust in Metallic Cat as the premier sire in the industry.”

Metallic Cat’s top offspring include (as of October 7, 2025):

  • Hazardouz Material (out of Scooters Daisy Dukes): $457,261.32.
  • Call Me Mitch (out of Miss Hickory Hill): $448,341.38.
  • MoonShineAndTwoAdvil (out of Little Short Stuff): $328,964.73.

“Metallic Cat’s influence in reined cow horse is undeniable as we see more and more of his offspring claim major titles across our sport,” said NRCHA Executive Director Emily Konkel. “On top of that, we’re now seeing his offspring join our Million Dollar Sires and Leading Dams lists. Congratulations to all his connections on this achievement.”
