Historical Preservation

Historical Preservation is key to keeping our western industry alive and thriving in a modern world. Without these efforts, we would forget where our industry started, and how we grow from there. We partner on the NRCHA Hall of Fame, where we recognize people, horses, and more, who have made a difference within the organization. These members and horses have impacted our industry in more ways than one.

2025 Inductees

Boyd Rice

He came to NRCHA as a cutter, but he’s earned his cow horse spurs over and over, and now is a Million Dollar Rider in both NRCHA and NCHA. He’s ridden some of the most memorable horses to championship titles, including World’s Greatest Horseman and Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Champion.

Charter Colonel

Partnered with NRCHA Hall of Famer Teddy Robinson for his entire career, Charter Colonel learned alongside Teddy as they both came along in reined cow horse competition. In his bridle years, the horse really made people take notice, winning all the major bridle classes at historic shows like Salinas, Cow Palace and Reno.

Kevin Stallings

After seeing his first reined cow horse show in 1979, this horseman dove head-first into cow horses. His commitment to horsemanship and the connections he shares with his horses have allowed him to earn many accolades in the arena, but his real sense of accomplishment comes from helping others by simply asking, “Can I help you with that?”

Rick Drayer

His service to the National Reined Cow Horse Association has always come from his heart and sense of dedication to the sport. While he enjoyed competing in the arena, his devotion to the association gives him great pride, and makes him a deserving recipient of the 2025 NRCHA Vaquero Award.

The People

The NRCHA Hall of Fame recognizes the people who, over the years, have contributed so much in so many ways to the organization. These men and women represent the most impactful horsemen in our sport, and have shaped the course of reined cow horse.

The NRCHA is proud to recognize its Hall of Fame Horses. Each of these equine athletes have proven their merits over the years, through performance and progeny, and have helped reined cow horse develop into one of the most demanding and competitive equine sports.

I would like to be known as a man of integrity, a man of honesty, a man that was kind to his horse, and loved his horses.
