Russell Probert

Russell Probert is a distinguished NRCHA professional based in Caldwell, Idaho, where he operates Probert Performance Horses. With lifetime earnings exceeding $430,000, Probert has firmly established himself among the National Reined Cow Horse Association’s top 30 Open riders.
Probert’s journey in the reined cow horse arena began in his early twenties. In 2013, he clinched the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Level 1 Open Championship aboard Mama Mia Lotta Lena, a mare he started as a 2-year-old. This victory marked a significant milestone in his career while he was working for fellow NRCHA professional Justin Wright.
Over the years, Probert has achieved notable successes such as placing sixth at the 2023 NRCHA Open Snaffle Bit Futurity® Finals with Rein N Kats, and Reserve Champion at the 2021 NRCHA Intermediate Open Snaffle Bit Futurity® Finals with Gettin Around. More recently, Probert competed in the Open Finals at the 2025 NRCHA Stallion Stakes on not one, but two horses, Rein N Kats and Stuck In Overdrive.
