APHA Chrome Cash Awarded at Every 2026 NRCHA Premier Event

By February 3, 2026No Comments

Weatherford, Texas—The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) and American Paint Horse Association (APHA) have long shared an alliance partnership, recognizing the importance of the horses and members of each association and shared goals. In 2026, APHA joins NRCHA as an event partner and APHA Chrome Cash will be awarded at every 2026 NRCHA premier event.

“Chrome Cash is a side pot open only to APHA-registered horses,” shared APHA Chrome Cash Senior Director Sunny Bates. “Horses may be registered with APHA based on visible color or parentage. NRCHA members pay a small entry fee at major events to be eligible for the Chrome Cash incentives. We’re confident Chrome Cash will open doors for more NRCHA members to become educated about the athleticism, talent, and affordability Paints can offer.”

The added money in 2025 was significant, with APHA paying out $99,000 in total at the five NRCHA premier events. The payouts are awarded in select classes at both the Open and Non Pro levels of competition.

“We’re excited to continue to offer new ways to increase the financial benefits our members can experience when competing at NRCHA premier events,” said NRCHA Executive Director Emily Konkel. “APHA Chrome Cash gives owners and riders the chance to take home extra dollars that help them continue to participate in cow horse and increase gratification across the board. APHA has been a longtime partner, and we’re pleased to continue that relationship with a leading breed registry.”
