Pilot Point, Texas— Abbie Phillips has once again secured her place among the elite in the reined cow horse industry, qualifying for The Run For A Million for the third time in her career. Her latest qualification came at the NRCHA Kimes Ranch Derby, where she delivered a standout performance of 447 points (R 222.5/C:224.5) with Peptos Stylin Time (One Time Pepto x Stylin Jewel x Docs Stylish Oak), the 2015 red roan stallion she owns with her husband, Kelby Phillips.

This marks the third consecutive year that Phillips and “Style” will compete together at The Run For A Million, proving their remarkable consistency and strength in the arena. Their partnership has already produced results at this prestigious event, including a top four finish in the 2024 Run For A Million Cow Horse Challenge, which earned them over $25,000.

With career earnings now exceeding $167,000, Style continues to shine with Phillips, most recently claiming both the Open and Intermediate Open Bridle Championships at the NRCHA Kimes Ranch Derby and sharing the high score of the cow work with an impressive 224.5.

Created by filmmaker and horseman Taylor Sheridan, The Run For A Million is one of the most prestigious and high-paying events in the Western performance horse industry. The event draws competitors and spectators from around the globe, highlighting the best of reining, cutting and cow horse disciplines on an international stage.

“Taylor has done a great job promoting The Run For A Million, and we get all kinds of people coming there,” said Phillips. “It’s not just cow horse people coming to watch, so it broadens our whole industry.”

She added, “It’s one of the best crowds alongside the World’s Greatest Horseman®, but The Run For A Million is electric and the people just go crazy. It’s fun.”

Also qualifying for The Run For A Million at the 2025 NRCHA Kimes Ranch Derby are Corey Cushing, Clayton Edsall, Boyd Rice and Sarah Dawson, adding more horsepower to the already high-caliber lineup of qualifiers headed to Las Vegas.

Those who qualified at Scottsdale will be joining Erin Taormino, Zane Davis, Brendon Clark, Clay Volmer and Justin Wright who earned their spot last year at the National Stock Horse Association Pre-Futurity in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The final opportunity for reined cow horse athletes to qualify for The Run For A Million will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, July 21 through 26 at the 2025 NRCHA MARS EQUESTRIAN™ Hackamore Classic.

As they prepare for their third appearance at The Run For A Million, Phillips and Peptos Stylin Time continue to embody excellence in the sport of reined cow horse. The NRCHA is proud to have them, and the entire group of talented NRCHA riders, representing the organization in Las Vegas.
